Modern Mayhem: Esper Hate-Ninjas (Modern, Magic Online)

This week, we take a look at a few different decks and try to mash them together to make a Frankenstein-like deck!

Gameplan

The deck is Hate Bears + Ninjas with an appearance from everyone's temporal planeswalker Teferi, Time Raveler! We still get to do some of the hate bear elements thanks to Aether Vial, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, and Tidehollow Sculler. We don't have Leonin Arbiter but we did throw in some other sweet cards like Spell Queller!

Spell Queller and Teferi, Time Raveler makes for some sweet interactions as you can bounce the Queller back to your hand after eating a spell and the opponent wont be able to cast the spell. This means you can bounce it back and do it again!

On top of that spice, we also have Ninjas to Ninjitsu some of our creatures back and this allows us to get more value. Fallen Shinobi connecting in modern can be backbreaking. Just be mindful of Thalia, Guardian of Thraben's tax as that will effect your Shinobi's cast!

Conclusion

I think the deck is really fun and funny so I am looking to see if I can get a more tuned version of this build for a later episode. I think we need more Tron hate out of the sideboard and maybe one more piece of Graveyard hate as there has been a dredge and Arclight Phoenix deck that's been running around. I also think we could use more disruption since we don't play a ton of counterspells so that means we might need to have a few discard spells. Let me try to get back into the lab and see how I can stitch this deck together!

Thanks for watching and I'll see you at the next one!
