Modern Mayhem: Rakdos Gatekeeper

Gameplan

By now, you know how much I love Cemetery Gatekeeper, and it feels like all roads have led to this moment where I can play it in Modern!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

The card feels like it can spiral out of control in a format where everybody is fetching, self-milling, and so forth as the card isn't legendary. You can stack multiples of these to put opponents in some seriously tight situations. Also, modern is a format where a 2/1 First Strike does quite nicely for itself in combat. Everything that was true about the card in other formats like Standard and Historic are even better in Modern. On top of this, we're also backed up by some of the best two drops Rakdos can offer like Dauthi Voidwalker, Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger, and Tourach, Dread Cantor

Conclusion

Modern is a format that has become ruled by Lurrus of the Dream-Den and any creature or permanents we play have to abide by Lurrus' rules. Cemetery Gatekeeper is the perfect tool as it serves as a main deck way to pick off key cards in an opponent's graveyard. The card is definitely the truth.
