Modern Mayhem: Modern Invoke Despair
Gameplan
I've been a huge fan of Invoke Despair in standard so when I saw Trellon pilot the deck to a clean 5-0 in Modern, I had to give it a shot.
The deck is essentially a mono black midrange deck that can produce a ton of mana thanks to Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. All of that mana leads to chaining Invoke Despairs or potentially making a massive Walking Ballista. Thanks to Karn, the Great Creator, we're able to loop Walking Ballista by exiling it with Relic of Progenitus and then pulling it back from exile.
Conclusion
The deck is extremely fair and probably needs to run into the right matchups to win but it feels amazing being able to produce a ton of mana. The deck isn't what I'd recommend for a tournament but when you get to create all the mana and cast Invoke Despair, it feels great.
Thanks for watching the content.
