Modern Mayhem: Selesnya Prison (Modern, Magic Online)
Well well...this week we've got a fun deck to play! We're trying the Selesnya Prison or Ponza, whichever one you want to call it!

Gameplan
We're going to try to deny our opponent of resources while also locking creature based decks down with a few Ghostly Prison #116 and Runed Halo #32.

We also have cards like Beast Within #152 and Mwonvuli Acid-Moss #207 which will help us deny our opponent their resources. Now you're wondering, why would I want to give my opponent a 3/3 beast to blow up their land? Quite simple! Even though they're getting a 3/3 threat out of the deal, they can't really pay for the card to attack if we have our Ghostly Prison #116 out. If we have more than one then that's even better because they stack!

Mwonvuli Acid-Moss #207 is another way to keep our opponent's from their resources while also ramping us! Lastly, having access to Primal Command #31 Showcase means we can put their land on top of their deck and then eventually create a loop with Eternal Witness #227 as the card allows us to tutor for a creature!

We also play a counterspell!! Can you believe it? A green and white deck having counterspells? Mana Tithe #171 is definitely humorous and totally my type of card. Not many people expect this so more often than not, people will walk right into it.

Just know that Mana Tithe #171 is a lot like Shadow of Doubt #253 in that you will usually get them once and then they'll play around it next time. Though this card is just a Force Spike #14, if our deck is performing on all cylinders, then paying the 1 mana will usually be difficult and can throw off an opponent's entire turn.
Conclusion
The deck was a blast to play. I probably could've sideboarded better but learning the deck was an amazing experience. It didn't matter if it won us the game but being able to catch people with a Mana Tithe #171 was hilarious! I also don't think it's entirely unreasonable for us to play an Ensnaring Bridge #294 in the main deck either! The deck is definitely full of fun interactions that I would highly recommend playing at your local FNM!
See you all at the next one!
