Modern Mayhem: Lorehold Land Destruction
Gameplan
DWalke349 piloted a hilariously sweet deck to a 5-0 finish and it's loaded with Stone Rain effects!
The deck is packed to the brim with other fun interactions to pair with our land destruction, but the general idea is to blow up as many lands as you can. Thanks to Cleansing Wildfire, we get to check opponents who might have greedy manabases while also drawing a card. We also have other fun interactions like Mana Tithe and Boom // Bust
Being able to target Cascading Cataracts or Flagstones of Trokair with Boom // Bust is absolutely hilarious as the opponents are the only ones that lose anything in this ordeal. Of course, blowing up lands isn't enough so how do we win?
As always, the best way to win is with planeswalkers! Especially when Chandra, Acolyte of Flame is able to -2 to cast cheap land destruction spells again. As our opponents stumble on resources, we're upticking Chandra, Torch of Defiance or Nahiri, the Harbinger either to an emblem or an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.
Conclusion
The deck seems to struggle with taking advantage of stumbling opponents as the planeswalkers just didn't feel like they were fast enough, but wow was this deck fun! I have to imagine cards like Wrenn and Six is the bane of our existence so we should be packing a full playset of Celestial Purge. I also think we could benefit from more sweepers like Wrath of God or maybe even Doomskar. This will be important as we don't have access to spells like Path to Exile due to it finding opponents more land. I don't think the deck is tier one but it is hilarious and you can ruin a Tron player's day. With tweaking to beat slightly more aggressive decks, we could do a bit more damage, but for now, this is just for funsies.
