Modern Mayhem: Eldrazi Tron (Modern, Magic Online)
Pretty excited to play our deck this week as we were able to get our hands on a Mycosynth Lattice!
Gameplan
We're still doing Eldrazi Tron things like before between Thought-Knot Seer and beating down our opponent with a Reality Smasher
The new inclusion is Modern's new shiny planeswalker!
With Karn's Passive ability, we get to play a one-sided Stony Silence. Another reason Karn is a powerhouse is that Karn's -2 ability can let us grab any Artifact we need from our sideboard. With how deep Modern's card pool is, there's almost an artifact for any situation. The biggest artifact as of recent has been Mycosynth Lattice! This card turns all of our opponent's cards into artifacts which is exactly what we want as Karn's passive will shut them down. After doing that, we use Karn's +1 to pick off all of their lands!
Another card we got was Blast Zone.
#MTGWAR has put so many cards into Modern and there is a reason most people call it the most impactful set in quite some time. This is another one of those impactful cards! Blast Zone allows us to have a board wipe that can come down early and can't be targeted by Disenchant effects. This card will be huge against almost any deck as it can be planeswalker removal or just a way to get rid of pesky Bogles!
Conclusion
The two new cards have definitely boosted the power level of EldraziTron but I'm still trying to figure out if this is the right shell for the Karn package or would it be better in big mana Tron. All I can say is that new Karn has added a lot of depth to the decks and allows us to fight problematic matchups by giving us access to things like Grafdigger's Cage or any other tool we need to steal game one. Expect to see a lot of this in the queues over time as Karn definitely doesn't feel like it's going away anytime soon!
