Dominaria Spoilers

This week was another light week of spoilers, highlighted mostly by beautiful Saga artwork and the Planeswalker deck contents. Community spoilers start in earnest on Monday, so we should be getting a flood of exciting new cards. Check out all the Dominaria spoilers at mtg.fish/dom, and check out the important highlights of the set from SaffronOlive:

Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive

Telim'Tor's Edict Heartbeat of Spring Noble Hierarch

The Reserved List buyout train stationed in Mirage this week with some really, really bad cards being bought out. For example, Telim'Tor's Edict increased around 600% in price from near bulk to almost $5, with Political Trickery and Teferi's Isle following along. Either buy the Reserved List cards you need now, no matter how unplayable they might look, or pretend that cards on the Reserved List don't exist. If Telim'Tor's Edict can get bought out, literally nothing on the Reserved List is safe.

In Modern, the two biggest winners this week were Heartbeat of Spring and Amulet of Vigor. Amulet of Vigor (up 58% to $14) makes sense; the Amulet Titan deck has picked up the pieces post Summer Bloom banning and has reestablished itself as a playable deck in the format. As for Heartbeat of Spring (up 83% to over $12), I'm not sure what's happening. The card is powerful, but I haven't been able to find any new deck lists or specific Dominaria synergies that would explain the spike.

Finally, Noble Hierarch is getting extremely expensive, climbing up to $85 from down in the $50s not that long ago. While this means the mana dork should be near the top of the reprint list for a future Masters set, just how soon this reprint will happen is anyone's guess. If you need copies, the original Conflux foils are only $105 (in part thanks to the weird, all foil packs sold for Shards of Alara block) and spending a bit more for pack foils offers a nice way to hedge against a future reprinting since the original pack foils generally hold value better than the other versions of a card.
