Pioneer Peak: Wheels and Deals (Pioneer, Magic Online)

It sure would be a shame if something happened to all those cards in our opponent's hand.....

Gameplan

We're a control deck that focuses on setting up the perfect wheel turn. Our wheel in this deck?

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Normally, a card like this seems awful as our opponents will get the first crack at their fresh new cards but luckily we have a few things to stop our opponents from drawing a ton of cards and making this a one-sided effect!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

By now, I'm sure we all have had the privilege of playing into Narset, Parter of Veils' passive ability but with her passive, we can just make it so we're the only ones drawing cards off of Day's Undoing. We also have Notion Thief which was a pet card of mine back when it was in standar. With a Thief we actually get to draw all of our opponent's cards! The best thing about this card is that a ton of decks naturally have some card draw in their decks and we can steal all of those too. After taking all of our opponent's draws, we just beat them down with anything like the thief itself or The Scarab God. We do have another way to absolutely crush opponents...

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

After wheeling and leaving the opponents with zero cards in hand, we can activate Geier Reach Sanitarium in their draw step after they've drawn while we have a Narset, Parter of Veils or Notion Thief on board. This will then cause us to either draw one to two cards while the opponent only gets to discard. This is a soft lock on the game as they will be throwing away whatever action they have unless its an instant speed spell.

 Conclusion

The deck ended with a 3-2 record but holy cow was it fun wheeling people. I can't tell if the deck is purely a meme yet as there are some disgusting plays but sometimes you can wheel an opponent into a win condition (would be a shame if that happened in the video....sigh). I do like having a few copies of Languish in the deck for the amount of Wicked Wolf and other indestructible threats running around but I still feel like there should be a mixture of sweepers. Often times a Lovestruck Beast or something with five toughness will linger so I'd like to add Ritual of Soot. If I were to try a new version of the deck, it'd look something like this ...

If there are enough blue decks in the meta, it's worth squeezing in a few Mystical Dispute into the deck. Whatever happens, we need the Unmoored Ego for decks with Nexus of Fate. Anywho, hope you enjoy the video and let me know how the deck performs for you!
