Pioneer Peak: Bant CoCo (Pioneer, Magic Online)

It's time to try good ol' Bant good stuff! Part of me originally wanted to build a Bant list that included Heliod, Sun Crowned and Walking Ballista but instead of the combo, we just added some sweet value creatures! Why go through all this to play a more inefficient version of Bant Spirits? Because I can! Mostly, I'm trying to find other CoCo decks outside of Heliod Combo and Spirits.

Gameplan

Our gameplan is to ramp into Collected Company and disrupt our opponents with Spell Queller and Reflector Mage. Although, that is a core part of our deck, we can still win just by playing solid creatures.

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

We have tons of value creatures like Tireless Tracker for targets but we also have the potential to land a Lovestruck Beast at the end of their turn to swing in for 5+ damage. The nice thing about us hitting our Adventure creatures is that we can also get use out of their adventure half by returning them to our hand with Teferi, Time Raveler

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Teferi also synergizes with Spell Queller which is maximum value. At the very least, Teferi can come down and turn off our opponent's interaction and bounce a card so he can be kind of like a super Reflector Mage!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

I feel like if you're playing a deck with blue and green, it's worth giving Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath a shot! It's a singleton but it's also another hit off of Collected Company! Granted, it won't stay on board but it will gain us three and draw us a card!

Conclusion

**SPOILER ALERT**
***SPOILER ALERT***

The deck finished at 3-2 stumbling some games due to mana issues and getting slain instantly by Mono Black aggro (Wow, they're aggressive) but I think there definitely can be a Bant midrange list with CoCo. Maybe the deck needs Gideon, Ally of Zendikar in the main deck but we have to be cautious of how many non creature spells we play as that messes with our chances of hitting targets off of Collected Company. Being able to make tokens every turn and an emblem that pumps the team isn't bad. I also feel like we could definitely main deck Deputy of Detention so here's what an updated list would look like

Anywho, thanks for watching and joining me on a journey for a different type of CoCo deck! I wonder if Jund CoCo could work?...

Against the Odds: Red Deck Wins...By Not Letting You Play (Timeless)

Mono-Red Prison is my all time favorite deck, but it's not very good in Modern anymore. The good news is that some new additions mean it's time to teach Arena zoomers about the archetype in Timeless!
