Post-Game Thoughts
Something I've been finding out about myself is I actually like playing Aggro decks in Commander -- at least as a break between durdly jank decks! However, I'm not actually a fan of Lovisa Coldeyes: my main issue with her is she wants you to play Tribal, but all the tribes she supports kind of suck. Of the three, the Warrior tribe has received the most love in MtG, but even then it's not much when you're restricted to only Red/Colorless cards. So what you're left with is a deck that has a handful of decent tricks and not much else.
If I were to build Warrior Tribal again, it would either be under Samut, Voice of Dissent, or better yet a partner deck with Reyhan, Last of the Abzan and Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder so you can every single good Warrior card, from Lovisa Coldeyes to Raiders' Spoils.
I'll try to bring more Aggro decks to future games and be less "merciful" when it comes to taking people out. I'm a durdly jank player first and foremost, but I do admit that I should switch things up more often.
List of currently soft-banned cards in our group:
- Sol Ring, Mana Vault and Mana Crypt for providing too fast mana
- Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora for slowing down the game with triggers
- Edric, Spymaster of Trest because the crew doesn't want Tomer to have fun (kidding! he's just too good)
Next Week: Masters 25!
We're celebrating the release of Masters 25 by building decks around the legendary creatures that are being reprinted in the set! There's a lot of powerful commander to choose from so it should be sweet!
