Single Scoop: Mono Black Discard (Historic, Magic Arena)
Gameplan
The deck is quite simple! We're here to discard all of our opponent's cards with key spells like Thoughtseize and hopefully take over the game with cards like Tergrid, God of Fright.
We've seen the basic gameplan of trying to use Tergrid to take over the game after an opponent is left empty handed. One of the problems with that method was the fact that we often ran out of gas to keep the game plan going. That has changed now that the Mystical Archives has brought us Sign in Blood. Sign in Blood helps us refill our hand at the cost of two life which is a small price to pay for greatness. Since we are loaded with cards that hit ourselves for two damage, we do need to offset that damage so I threw in copies of Gifted Aetherborn as a way to gain some life while having a threat that doesn't die to a Shock effect!
Conclusion
The deck is a lot less interactive outside of the board wipes as I wanted to lean a little bit more into the discard theme. Of course, without a card like The Rack or Shrieking Affliction, we don't have punishing Rack effects. Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage is a nice attempt but is way more fragile than the aforementioned cards. The deck has the discard spells to play an 8 rack style gameplan but lacks the finishers. For right now, this is a super fun pet deck to play but can't be higher than a tier 2.5 deck until we get more ways to close a game.
