Single Scoop: Dimir's Shadow (Historic, Magic Arena)
Gameplan
It's always scary trying to play a midrange deck like Death's Shadow when there was normally so many unfair combos running around, but with the main culprit gone in Tibalt's Trickery, let's see if we knock our own life down a bit to grow a Death's Shadow and Scourge of the Skyclaves
Our two new friends in blue are Delver of Secrets and Malevolent Hermit. Both of these cards fit right in with our gameplan of a cheap efficient threat. Delver will serve as our main one drop threat that should easily flip when we've got so many spells and MDFC's in the deck. Malevolent Hermit is a wonderful threat to loop back with Lurrus assuming we get to keep our favorite den cat.
MTGMID brought us some powerful cheap new spells to play with. Consider is exactly the style of cantrip that the deck can use to continue to dig towards its next threat or answer. Infernal Grasp is the perfect answer that can kill anything while helping us lose life to grow Death's Shadow and Scourge of the Skyclaves.
Conclusion
Historic just keeps getting cheaper spells and slowly but surely, we'll get a solid Delver deck in the format. Right now, it still feels in its early stages. The Dimir version doesn't have the red mana to burn our opponents health so cards like Scourge of the Skyclaves are a bit worse. However, the tempo game plan is strong in this deck. I wonder if the deck can afford a card like Fae of Wishes to help us deal with the bo1 meta. For now, the Rakdos variant is stronger but lacks the counterspells so that's the trade-off.
