Single Scoop: Dimir Rogues 2021 (Post-Rotation Standard, Magic Arena)

By now, I'm sure we've all seen the sweet spoilers from Zendikar Rising and if you're as excited as I am for Rogues, you're going to have a blast with this deck. To nobody's surprise, I made a Rogue deck on stream and tweaked it a bit more to prepare for the biggest threat post rotation, which is Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath

Gameplan

So, with this version of the deck, I went rogues that leans toward a Dimir Flash aspect and maybe that changes post rotation but Zendikar Rising is bringing some super sweet rogues and ways to fill our opponent's yard up. Anyways, the deck plays a tempo playstyle and is very bad against go wide strategies but thats something our sideboard can solve in best of three!

I've been pretty high on Thieves' Guild Enforcer and Ghostly Pilferer since their release. Enforcer is our premier one drop that turns the whole deck on! The ability to flash this in and mill the opponent is sweet. At it's worst, it's a good Blacklance Paragon. Of course, Ghostly Pilferer is an all-star in this block constructed because of the amount of Adventure decks there are. It also triggers off of people casting Uros.

The nice thing about the Rogue gameplan is that it naturally feeds into a Dimir Flash package so we still get to play the disruptive counterspell game. Unfortunately, the deck severely lacks ways to deal with "go wide" strategies and red decks so we're going to have to heavily sideboard for that going into the new standard.

Conclusion

The deck is showing promise early with the asterisks next to how we're going to deal with Aggro and of course, Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath. Uro is the cloud looming over everyone's minds and rightfully so. However, I believe with enough preparation, we can hate out Uro with cards like Cling to Dust and Eat to Extinction. If we're desperate enough, Necromentia however I'm not a huge fan of cards that two for one yourself. Oh, and please don't read this as me saying Uro is a fair and balanced Magic card. Anyways, Zendikar Rising is around the corner, I'm excited to see how we can attack the meta because this standard looks extremely fun with tons of decisions when it comes to deck building.

As always, thank you for watching and reading!
