Single Scoop: Chandras Everywhere (Historic, Magic Arena)

We've had almost all the pieces for a Chandra tribal deck for quite some time but we were missing the best version of Chandra, Chandra, Torch of Defiance! With her arrival, we can expedite her ultimate and build a deck around her and her loved ones!

Gameplan

The deck plays pretty much like a red superfriends deck but has a sweet curve in two specific cards;

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Chandra, Acolyte of Flame is a cheap planeswalker that can allow us to cast sweepers and removal with her -2 but the biggest thing is her first 0 ability which is adding a loyalty counter to all of our red planeswalkers. With this, we're able to ultimate our Chandra, Torch of Defiance the turn after playing the Torch of Defiance! Of course, we've also got other Chandras in the deck like Chandra, Heart of Fire, Chandra, Awakened Inferno, and even spicy planeswalker deck Chandra, Bold Pyromancer!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Our best ways to protect our Chandras is none other than Heart of Kiran as this card allows us to be aggressive while also being able to play defense for our planeswalkers. The best part is how early it comes down on the curve! Of course, we've also got removal like Chandra's Triumph which gets a huge boost when paired with any of our Chandras! We're also packing cards like Anger of the Gods to sweep up most threats and exile them on their way out!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

The last piece I'd like to talk about is Grafdigger's Cage which feels like something most decks should be playing in the main when it comes to Best of One. The card is a bit of a double-edged sword so be mindful about deploying the card. The card is powerful at shutting off Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath, Rakdos Pyromancer, Collected Company, Neoform and Historic's champion, Muxus, Goblin Grandee (Sarcasm) but in matches where the opponent doesn't care about the graveyard, don't deploy this card as it shuts off our Chandra, Acolyte of Flame. It's also important to keep in mind that this card is on everybody's radar so try holding onto it for the key turns like the turn before a CoCo or Muxus and so forth.

Conclusion

The deck gets absolutely wrecked by control decks and Azorius Control is popular right now so maybe we should be looking to more copies of Chandra, Awakened Inferno but even one or two more Chandras may not be enough to win us the game as cards like Gideon of the Trials laughs at our emblems forever. If I weren't trying to go for more flavor, I'd probably shave a few silly walkers like Jaya Ballard and Chandra, Bold Pyromancer for some more efficient ways to close out the game. It could be time for some sweet Banefire action for when we're flooding out! The deck is definitely more for fun, and don't think this deck will be anywhere near tier 1 even if we build this to be a bit more "competitive". However, Chandra fanatics will have a hoot!

Anywho, thanks for watching and supporting the content. You all rule for still supporting me in year two of my MTGGoldfish adventures!
