Single Scoop: Boros Pretty Much Affinity (Historic, Magic Arena)

Awhile back, we got Tempered Steel and were able to get some super fast aggressive starts with our old Azorius Steel deck but this time around, we're going Boros as we've finally got Bomat Courier and a sweet new creature land in Blinkmoth Nexus

Of course, Blinkmoth Nexus may not seem like much but the fact that it's a cheap evasive threat that has the artifact type in it will add synergies with the rest of the deck. Do not underestimate it's ability to be a land as you've already seen from cards like Crawling Barrens that creature lands are sweet. If there's some kind of artifact aggro deck, this card has to be included. Unfortunately, we're still some ways away from Inkmoth Nexus, Arcbound Ravager, and Cranial Plating away to be an affinity edeck but we sure get to pretend to be Affinity's little brother. Since we last visited the Tempered Steel archetype, we've had a new addition to historic in Bomat Courier which helps us with our biggest issue, refilling our hand. Often times, we'd get board wiped and the game was done. Luckily, Bomat Courier helps us resolve that issue. I'm also being cute and adding Hope of Ghirapur to try to delay a turn so our opponents don't get to sweep immediately.

I'm also trying some other cards like Light Up the Stage and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben in the main deck. Light Up the Stage is mainly used for card advantage and seems beneficial with all of our cheap threats pinging our opponents. Of course, Thalia is really just hear to keep our opponents off their game plan just by a turn or two as that is usually the difference between the opponent dying to our army of cute little robots. 

Conclusion

The deck still feels too weak without cards like Cranial Plating and Arcbound Ravager but Blinkmoth is another step in that direction! Maybe we'll have an actual Hardened Scales deck soon! Either way, I just don't think the deck is explosive enough to close out the last bit of points of health. So many threats are better than a bunch of cheap X/1 artifacts. Ontop of that, our reach is a bit non existent until we get something like Galvanic Blast. For now, our little robot friends will have to wait until it leaves the tier 3 area. It is still sweet how you sometimes just equip an All That Glitters and you just close the game super quick!
