Pioneer Peak: Rakdos Dragons (Pioneer, Magic Online)

Its time to channel our inner Sarkhan and take the dragons to Pioneer!

Gameplan

Dragons have been running around in Pioneer and the lists didn't really need much from #MTGTHB. It's solid enough already and can definitely win with Goblin Rabblemaster (an honorary dragon).

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

This card will give us the early game pressure that we need to keep our opponents desperate for an answer as usually untapping with this card is insane. Of course, we're not a goblin deck so the meat of the deck lies in its dragons(WOW SURPRISE)...

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

This card must be dealt with as its a beefy body with an ability that can stack up if we ever land multiples. A four mana 4/4 with flying is amazing on it's own as it is able to help us block the low to the ground creatures from decks like Mono Black and Red Deck Wins. This card also quickly turns the corner and helps us become the aggressor as it curves perfectly into our five drops.

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury is the perfect follow up to a Thunderbreak Regent as we can Dash this dragon in for a 10 point life swing but even better, the Dash ability also allows us to get around sweeper effects. We also have another wonderful threat in Stormbreath Dragon as the protection from white will be relevant against decks like Azorius Control as this card can't be tucked by a Teferi, Hero of Dominaria or bounced back by Teferi, Time Raveler. This card will usually require a sweeper or a counterspell before we run away with the game as it scales into the late game with its Monstrosity ability.

Conclusion

After narrowly missing out on the the 5-0 trophy, I feel like this deck is perfect right now with everyone playing Inverter of Truth as we can disrupt them and hit them with very real threats. I think the deck can use a few Glorybringer or a second Sarkhan, the Masterless somewhere in the 75 cards. I would really like to turn those Duress in the sideboard to a full playset of Agonizing Remorse.

Agonizing Remorse just seems so important as its a way for us to rip Inverter of Truth, Thassa's Oracle, or whatever else is a problem. The fact that it also exiles the card could be the difference between an opponent casting something like Dig Through Time. Anywho, give this list a fun test drive because dragons are sweet. Let me know if you've got any dragon lists of your own as I originally wanted to do Rakdos or Izzet dragons but leaned towards Rakdos for the disruption.

I also want to take a moment to say thanks to those who have submitted decklists and that next week I'll be doing a few viewer submitted lists so make sure to contact me on the platforms mentioned below with a list and what non-commander series/format you'd like to see them played in. Thanks for watching!

If you have a deck you want to be made into a video or have suggestions feel free to leave a like, comment, Email me, and subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel
