Commander Clash S4 Episode 27: Brawl! (Depala vs. Gishath vs. Nicol Bolas vs. Tezzeret)
The new Brawl format has finally made its way on Magic Online, so it's time to give it a shot! For those who haven't heard of Brawl yet, check out the announcement article that explains it in detail. Basically it's a variant of Commander with the following differences:
- Standard-legal cards only
- 60 card decks (down from 100)
- Life totals start at 30 (down from 40)
- No commander damage
- All Planeswalkers are allowed as Commanders
Brawl is often descibed as a fun simpler variant that serves as a gateway to the Commander format. I'm excited to try it out! Let's see what we've got!
- Jennifer speeds into battle with a hyper-aggressive Dwarf/Vehicle Tribal deck led by Depala, Pilot Exemplar
- Richard stomps on to the battlefield with Dinosaur Tribal, smashing faces with Gishath, Sun's Avatar
- Tom plays for the late game, running a Goostuff Control deck with Grixis allstars led by Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh
- Tomer assembles an Artifact deck where each card is a piece of a synergistic puzzle, led by Tezzeret the Schemer
