Commander Clash S3 Episode 21: Jank Tribal
Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. This is about the time where we'd be playing the new Commander 2017 preconstructed Tribal decks and talking about how awesome they are, but unfortunately Wizards has announced that the precons aren't going to be available on MTGO; only "select C17 card will be available on November 15." That sucks, but you know what? We don't need those fancy schmancy new decks, or those cool tribes like Vampires, Wizards, Dragons, and Cats! We'll make our own Tribal decks! We'll build our own Tribal decks, with blackjack, and spooky skeletons! Introducing Jank Tribal! Here's what we've got:
- Tom is keeping an eye on his opponents with an Eye Tribal list watched over by Damia, Sage of Stone
- Jennifer pulls out an old Fish Tribal deck -- no, not Merfolk, actual Fish! -- led by Prime Speaker Zegana
- Richard stampedes towards victory with Horse Tribal led by Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker and Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper
- Tomer brings a Tribal Elephant list and a trunk full of puns with Selvala, Explorer Returned
Seth was on vacation at the time of this game's recording, so Richard has come to take his place! The Jank Tribal Heavyweight Champion returns for the most appropriate week! Will he defend his title once more, or will someone finally dethrone the undefeated king of Jank Tribal? Let's find out! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts
This game was a long one, but hopefully entertaining! We got to see each deck do its thing, which was be super janky. My personal favorite was Tom's deck, since all his cards were Eye-related, no matter how subpar some of them were. If you were interested in my Elephant Tribal deck though, I did write a Budget Commander article on it a while back, with only minor changes for this game. Elephants are by no means a strong tribe and have no official support, but they have a neat trick of forcing opponents you block your bigger creatures as a form of combat removal.
Next Week: Viewer Submitted Decks!
Last week we asked you guys to submit decks that you'd like us to play in a future Commander Clash. We've picked our favorites, and next week we'll duke it out with the chosen decks! Thank you to everyone who submitted decks; there was a ton of awesome ideas to choose from!
