Single Scoop: This Deck is So Toxic (Phyrexia Standard)
Game Plan
Phyrexia has given us so many sweet new toxic toys!
First off, we've got Mother Mite in Skrelv, Defector Mite. The card is a more balanced Mother of Runes for Toxic cards! The one thing I didn't know until I played with Skrelv was that the Toxic 1 stacks! So if something already has Toxic 1, Skrelv would then give it Toxic 2. Ontop of Skrelv, we've got the new Skrelv's Hive — aka Skitterblossom! This card plays a lot better than you'd think. It even has sneaky lifelink for your Toxic creatures to gain back the life loss. Skrelv's Hive was a card I was low on at first but then I realized that this card isn't meant to be defensive like Bitterblossom could be.
The other thing outside of the obvious toxic gameplan is all the payoffs for proliferating like Voidwing Hybrid which is able to recur itself every time you proliferate. A reminder is that you don't need actually have counters on anything in order to proliferate. Just cast any of the spells like Drown in Ichor and Experimental Augury and you'll get the Hybrid back! We've also got a straight-up counterspell if our opponents are corrupted in Bring the Ending and a solid, exiling spell in Anoint with Affliction.
Overall, the deck plays like a tempo list. If that's your play style, you'll love this. So do whatever you gotta do to get that first toxic counter on your opponents!
