Single Scoop: Mob Nixilis Aggro (Explorer)
Gameplan
Ob Nixilis, the Adversary has made it's impact early on, and I had talked about it a while back about how Ob Nixilis could potentially boost aggressive decks in power level. Naturally, the first deck that came to mind was mono black aggro. The deck was once absurdly popular, but after bannings, it lost a lot of gas. However, could Ob Nixilis be what the deck needs?
When you take into account that all of our threats return to the battlefield, the casualty part of Ob Nixilis isn't a big deal. We have cards like Gutterbones , Scrapheap Scrounger, and a new one in Tenacious Underdog! Not only that, but Mob Nixilis comes down on the three drop curve and that allows us to really pack a punch as some games we just don't have Spawn of Mayhem. In the event that we don't, let's hope we can jam two Planeswalkers!
Conclusion
The inclusion of Ob Nixilis did push me into dropping the snow lands which means no Faceless Haven as we don't have Mutavault in the format. I felt the loss of snow lands wasn't bad and Ob Nixilis definitely took over some games. However, I feel that mono-black might just be a bit too weak as red is probably the most aggressive deck right now!
