Historic 101: RogueJitsu
Gameplan
Jumpstart Historic has brought a bunch of new cards and reprints to arena so naturally the first one I had to take a poke at was Ninjitsu!
Since Ninjitsu style decks love playing cheap creatures with evasion, I figured why not throw them into a Rogues build. Thanks to cards like Merfolk Windrobber and Thieves' Guild Enforcer, we would often get to have the dream curve of playing a 1-drop into Ingenious Infiltrator. We still get to play the rogue game plan we all know and love but with even more efficient creatures! The best part about Ninjitsu is that it's an activated ability so we can sneak past those darn Jeskai control decks. Of course, we do have to be mindful of spot removal. Another thing to note is that Infiltrator stacks so if you have two connecting, you'll get to draw four cards!
Conclusion
The deck's weak spots are apparent in the video in that it might be too fair and a combo deck can win out of nowhere as your clock isn't that fast. We also struggle against go wide strategies like elves and burn! The list from the beginning of the video is different than the end result as I tweaked the list as filming went on! I do think the list will need more tuning but it is day 1 so it can only go up from here.
Thanks for watching and supporting the content!
