Historic 101: Jund Control
Gameplan
When you think Jund in Historic, the first thing that comes to mind is Sacrifice or some midrange gameplan, but we're gonna ditch that for a more hard control deck. We'll be loaded with some of the most efficient spells in our colors.
We won't have countermagic so being able to efficiently rip threats from our opponent's hand and removing problematic permanents to stabilize until we can hit something along the lines of Tibalt, Cosmic Impostor or an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is crucial to our gameplan. But there's a light twist to the deck as the deck also has land destruction! The best counterspell or way to control the board is ensuring that your opponents can't cast anything!
The land destruction isn't exactly necessary, but depriving opponents of mana is quite hilarious.
Conclusion
The deck really felt hindered by the land destruction package, but if you're a fan of light LD, this is a fun little inclusion. I'd highly recommend Crucible of Worlds to keep picking off lands with Gnottvold Slumbermound to continuously get a 4/4 Troll Warrior! Otherwise, we might need a few more ways to gain life so a card like Cling to Dust would be nice as it also allows us to pick off cards like Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger. Either way, I feel that the deck is still missing something for me to consistently climb the ladder. The LD plan is fun so give it a try if you're into that!
Thanks for watching!
