Elder Boomer Highlander | Commander Clash S12E10

Welcome back to Commander Clash! This week we're taking a look back at Commander before it was an official format: welcome to Elder Boomer Highlander, where every card must have been printed before Commander 2011! Here's what we've got:

  • Phil cheats out the nastiest haymakers from over a decade ago with Intet, the Dreamer
  • Richard is going ultra-Boomer by playing one of the original elder dragons, Vaevictis Asmadi
  • Seth is looking to blow up his board while taking one unlucky opponent down with him using Rakdos the Defiler
  • Tomer is showing how good Mono White can be even back in 2011 with a Combo deck using Darien, King of Kjeldor

What Are You Playing On?

We're playing Commander on a program called Magic Online. If you're interested in Magic Online, then check out my Commander-focused guide to the program over here!

What's the Banned List?

This season, we are using the official Commander banned list with no house bans.

Next Week: Pioneer Commander!

We're building decks using only cards that are currently legal in Pioneer, so cards that have been Standard-legal from about a decade ago (starting in Return to Ravnica). Let's see how Commander looks like with a more modern cardpool!

Single Scoop: How Bad is Red Without Monstrous Rage?

Its kind of a hot topic about if red can go on without Monstrous Rage or not. Lets take a look at how the aggro deck would fair without their absurdly busted combat trick.
