Shards of Alara | Commander Clash S12E09
Welcome back to Commander Clash! New Capenna is set to release soon and since it's the first set in over a decade with an emphasis of 3-color shard combinations, we decided to check out the OG shards block, Shards of Alara! Each of us built a deck around an Alara commander to see how they hold up now in 2022:
- Phil pilots an Artifact Blink deck with Sharuum the Hegemon
- Richard merges +1/+1 Counters with a Voltron strategy using Jenara, Asura of War
- Crim subs in for Seth this week, bringing a Grixis Aristocrats deck led by Thraximundar
- Tomer runs an Aura Voltron deck looking for 1-shot kills with Uril, the Miststalker

What Are You Playing On?
We're playing Commander on a program called Magic Online. If you're interested in Magic Online, then check out my Commander-focused guide to the program over here!
What's the Banned List?
This season, we are using the official Commander banned list with no house bans.
Next Week: Elder Boomer Highlander!
What was Commander like before it was an official format? We check out these prehistoric times with a deckbuilding restriction called Elder Boomer Highlander: each card in our deck must have been printed before the original Commander 2011 precons! So nothing after New Phyrexia is legal. Let's see how the decks looked back then!
