Commander Clash S7 E18: Original Theros Commanders | Erebos vs. Medomai vs. Phenax vs. Tromokratis

Hey friends, welcome back to Commander Clash! With Theros: Beyond Death about to be released, we decided to take a moment and look at the original Theros set that spawned the sequel, checking out the commander options from the OG set. Crim was off in Canadaland for this recording, so Richard took his place piloting Crim's deck. Here's what we've got:

  • Andrew showcases the power of Mono Black Goodstuff, casting tons of classic Mono Black spells under the watchful eye of Erebos, God of the Dead
  • Richard pilots Crim's deck, an Azorius Extra Turn deck that makes sure only he gets to play Magic while everyone else watches, led by Medomai the Ageless
  • Seth has really taken his new year's resolution of attacking to heart, playing a Sea Monster Tribal deck that's all about attacking with big dumb creatures, led by Tromokratis
  • Tomer ticked up his abacus many times from last week and decided to get his revenge by playing a Crim deck, milling opponents and making them miserable with Phenax, God of Deception

Lots of Black and Blue this week! Will this be a giant durdlefest, or will we manage to kill each other in a timely manner? Let's find out! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Next Week: Viewer Submitted Playgroup!

We regularly do Viewer Submitted Decks, where we pick random submitted decks to play with. But we're taking the concept to the next level with Viewer Submitted Playgroup, where we each play a deck from the same playgroup! This is really sweet because it's four tuned decks that are balanced to play against each other! I loved the games that resulted from this experiment and can't wait to show you the games!
