Commander Clash S2 Episode 10: Kaladesh

Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. This week, we're building decks around some of the brand new legendary creatures from Kaladesh. Here's what we came up with:

We got a sweet game for you guys; without spoiling too much, I'm happy that every deck had a moment to shine. Hope you enjoy it! But first, quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts

Ugh, that was a horrible punt: I didn't realize that Outpost Siege was actually a threat. I just assumed it would draw cards as the card usually does, without noticing the lethal burn potential staring at me. I had Desertion as an easy answer, and even when I missed that I could've bluffed Cyclonic Rift until I drew enchantment removal. Since all my cards had flash, I could've easily dealt with the Siege in response to any board wipe and from there it was an easy win. That was probably the worst mistake I've done in the entire series!

My personal goal for the next game is simply not to make a game-losing error like this one. Maybe I'll add a wager to this goal. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Aside from that, the game was sweet. We got to see every deck do its thing. I loved playing Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, and I'm excited to give Depala, Pilot Exemplar and Gonti, Lord of Luxury a whirl in the future. Padeem, Consul of Innovation probably wouldn't be my preferred choice leading Mono Blue Artifacts -- Muzzio,Visionary Architect is my favorite for that role -- but she seems like a solid part of the 99.

Next Week: Alphabet Commander

Each of us have picked a letter of the alphabet and every nonland card in our deck must start with that letter. For example, I picked the letter "S," so all my nonland cards must start with "S": Sol Ring, Syphon Mind, and Swan Song are all legal candidates. It turns out "S" is pretty stacked for this theme, so yay for me! Tune in next week to see what we came up with.

As always, we encourage you to leave us a comment on this article, on YouTube, or on Twitter @BudgetCommander. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, be it thoughts on the game, ideas on how to improve the series, or suggestions for future themes; we read all of them and bring them up in discussions. Thanks for watching!
