Commander Clash 29: Jake Week
Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. This is the last week that Jake will be a regular on the show, so we're giving him a proper sendoff with what I call "Jake Week": each of us have built a deck that we feel embodies Jake's philosophy and playstyle in Commander. Here's what we came up with:
- Seth runs a Group Pain deck that is more "mildly annoying" than it is "painful," along with some reanimation courtesy of Tariel, Reckoner of Souls
- Richard goes for Tribal Oblivion Ring cards, hating on everyone's stuff while goading others to blow up his permanents with Merieke Ri Berit
- Jake has cobbled together a Goodstuff deck of all his favorite cards led by Damia, Sage of Stone
- Tomer builds his deck entirely around a secret (and janky) theme with Doran, the Siege Tower
It seems both Seth and Richard tried to build decks that could instantly become the archenemy of the table, in true Jake fashion! But who will manage to be hated out first? Let's find out! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts
Bonus unfinished decks for this week:
- Richard was building a deck with only cards featuring artwork by Rebecca Guay but ditched it because it was too awful even for a Jake deck.
- I was trying to build a Mono Black deck with cards starting with "S," and while it showed promise it was taking too much time to build so I'm shelving it for another time.
This was Jake's last week as a regular on the show. I'm sad to see him go, but I totally understand why he'd want to step down: coming up with a brand new deck week after week can get tiresome, and at the end of the day we're just a group of friends playing for fun. If it's not fun then there's no point playing the game. Don't worry though, Jake will still be regularly contributing to the site through his Playing Pauper series, Limited reviews, and whatever else he cooks up.
Short Hiatus
Commander Clash will be going on a short hiatus while we figure out how the series will move forward. We'll have things sorted out within the next few weeks and then we'll be back, so keep an eye out! Thanks for watching and reading!
