Budget Arena: Mono Black Discard (Standard, Magic Arena)

This week we're going to try to stop the threats before they ever hit the board or the stack! ....Which card?..Discard!

Gameplan

This time our gameplan will focus around cards like Raiders' Wake and Fell Specter!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

The gameplan will be to put our opponent on top decks as they will no longer have cards in hand. The best part about all of this is whenever they discard a card, they'll take at least 2 damage if any of the cards above are on board. Of course I do have some spice...

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Thats right! I have two copies of Erstwhile as I want to see if we can set up a kill with this and Wake or Specter! At the very least, when your opponent is out of cards completely and isn't holding back any more cards, we can hold back on all our dead discard spells and then dump them to turn them into zombies. It's like turning our dead cards into undead cards! hehe.

Conclusion

I think we might have too many lands in the deck to be honest. I think we can get away with 22 or 23 lands and with my next rodeo of this deck I definitely plan on trying that. With #MTGWAR also on its way out and Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage, I definitely plan on seeing if I can get into some more discard shenanigans! Best part is Davriel is an Uncommon so it's perfect for our budget. Do I recommend crafting this deck to actually hit mythic? Probably not. But it's sure as heck fun to throw away all of our opponent's cards.

See you all at the next one!
