Commander Clash S6 E16: Peasant Commander! (Adeliz vs. Iwamori vs. Raff vs. Zada)
Welcome back to Commander Clash! This week we're giving up rares and mythics to play some Peasant Commander! All the cards in our deck must have had a printing at common or uncommon rarity. Here's what we've got:
- Crim goes into the red zone with aggressive Wizards led by Adeliz, the Cinder Wind
- Richard challenges his puny opponents to a battle against the swole Iwamori of the Open Fist
- Seth plays a land and passes the turn, casting spells later with the help of Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage
- Tomer goes all in on Mono Red Combo deck led by Zada, Hedron Grinder
When we played Pauper Commander, we had issues actually ending the game. Will Peasant fare any better? Let's find out! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts
It was a poor showing of Zada. I went too all-in and got punished by the perfect answer. I think if we didn't run into a turn 2 Sphere the game would've been very different.
After this game I'd make some changes to the deck: I'd cut all the "draw a card at the beginning of next turn's upkeep," like Balduvian Rage. The reason is because the turn I go off is the turn I want to win on, and these cards only help me win on future turns. I would replace these cards with artifact hate, so Vandalblast and By Force to go alongside Mog Salvage. We already have protection against countermagic with Red Elemental Blast / Pyroblast / Price of Glory, and there's only so much interaction we can run before our combo potential starts getting too watered down. Obviously if we added rares then I'd toss in stuff like Wheel of Fortune and Gamble but with the Peasant restriction, just 1-2 card changes would be all I'd want to do.
Viewer Deck Submissions Are Open!
We're doing another Viewer Submitted Decks episode in two weeks! Please submit a deck that you'd like us to pilot in the future episode by providing a link to the deck list in the comments section here, or in the YouTube comments section, or hound us down on Twitter and send it to us there. In addition to the regular Commander ban list, we follow a special house ban list. The following cards are also banned:
- any card whose current price is over $100 USD
- Cylonic Rift
- Mana Crypt
- Sol Ring
- Mana Vault
We look forward to see what you all come up with!
Next Week: Random Card!
It's that time again: we're heading over to the Gatherer website, clicking the "Random Card" button at the bottom, and then building a deck around the first card result! Will we get something good, or will it be horrible jank? Find out next week!
