Commander Clash S6 E12: No Tutors! (Child of Alara vs. King Macar vs. Sakashima vs. Tymna & Vial Smasher)

Welcome back to Commander Clash! I don't know about you all, but something I look forward to the least in a game of Commander is constantly having to shuffle my pile of 99 cards, especially if they're double-sleeved. Well, this week we're seeing how our decks could be like if there wasn't any shuffling at all: this episode is No Tutors! All cards that require you to search a library are banned this week. That means no Demonic Tutors, no Rampant Growths, not even fetchlands like Windswept Heath

Crim wasn't able to make our recording, but we managed to fill his spot with a special guest: Andrew aka MTG Muddstah! In case you don't already know who he is, MTG Muddstah has a YouTube channel where he regularly uploads paper Commander gameplay videos. Entire games lasting multiple hours are edited down to around 15 minutes with Andrew narrating the entire match and highlighting all the plays. His content is dope and we're thrilled to have him join us for a game!

Here's what we're bringing today:

  • Andrew plays a unique take on the Spellslinger archetype, running a Mardu list led by partners Tymna the Weaver & Vial Smasher the Fierce
  • Richard decides he'd rather play everyone else's decks instead, copying everyone's stuff with a Clone Tribal list led by Sakashima the Impostor
  • Seth isn't phased by the lack of fetchlands and Green land ramp this week and goes full-out madlad with a 5C Death Triggers list led by Child of Alara
  • Tomer finally gets around to playing a long-requested deck, turning everything he touches to value with the help of King Macar, the Gold-Cursed

We've got a great variety of decks this week, so let's see how it plays out! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash. and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Next Week: God-Eternals!

War of the Spark is now available on Magic Online which means it's time to play with the new cards! We kick things off by building decks around four out of five of the new God-Eternals! It's going to be fun, so see you then!
