Commander Clash S4 Episode 22: History of Magic (Kaalia vs. Kruphix vs. Pharika vs. Sidisi)

This week on Commander Clash we're celebrating the release of Masters 25 one more time by building decks with a unique restriction: each set from Magic's history must be represented by a card that was first printed in that set. For example, you can use Counterspell to represent the Alpha set. Let's see what we came up with:

  • Jennifer assembles a historic tour of Enchantress with her guide, Pharika, God of Affliction
  • Richard reaches a hand into the Jank Tribal bag and pulls out Angels powered out by Kaalia of the Vast
  • Seth shows off his favorite cards -- Ramp, Durdle, and Card Draw -- led by a master of durdle, Kruphix, God of Horizons
  • Tom sets aside his Aggro decks to simmer for a week, instead busting out a powerful Simic Control deck led by Sidisi, Brood Tyrant

As a fun bonus, Jennifer and Tom provided a list of each card that represents a set from their decks, so if you're interested you can check them out by clicking the links and scrolling down to the deck descriptions!

Submit Your Decks!

It's that time again: Viewer Submitted Deck week is happening soon, so now is your chance to submit a deck that you'd like us to play in a future episode!

Here are a couple submission guidelines to help your chances of being selected:

  • We're picking decks that are similar to the stuff we'd bring ourselves to Commander Clash. That means decks priced at 20-30 tickets online and at our regular playgroup power level, so no turn 3 combo wins, no hardcore Stax, etc.
  • Have a decent ratio of mana (lands + ramp), interaction, card draw, etc. I have to skip over so many cool deck concepts filled with thematic cards but unfortunately lack basic deck needs to make it functional

That's about it! Submit your decks by sharing a link to it in the comments section. I'm excited to see what you guys and gals submit to us this time!

Single Scoop: Who Dares to Play Merfolk in Standard? I Do!

Merfolk have constantly been brought back but haven't been good in a long time. This deck will definitely make our opponents respect the typal enough to consider Merfolk a tier 2 deck >:3
