Zendikar Rising Instant-Speed Tricks


This is a list of all the instant-speed tricks in Zendikar Rising. Each color is sorted by converted mana cost.

Notes:

  • Hagra Mauling is listed at 2BB, since 1BB will almost never come up in Limited.

White Practiced Tactics Common Instant Choose target attacking or blocking creature. Practiced Tactics deals damage to that creature equal to twice the number of creatures in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.)
Resolute Strike Common Instant Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn. If it's a Warrior, you may attach an Equipment you control to it.
/ Dauntless Unity Common Instant Kicker {1}{W} (You may pay an additional {1}{W} as you cast this spell.) Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. If this spell was kicked, those creatures get +2/+1 until end of turn instead.
Disenchant Common Instant Destroy target artifact or enchantment.
Pressure Point Common Instant Tap target creature. Draw a card.
Kabira Takedown Uncommon Instant Kabira Takedown deals damage equal to the number of creatures you control to target creature or planeswalker.
Sejiri Shelter Uncommon Instant Target creature you control gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn.
Allied Assault Uncommon Instant Up to two target creatures each get +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of creatures in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.)
Smite the Monstrous Common Instant Destroy target creature with power 4 or greater.
Blue Chilling Trap Common Instant Target creature gets -4/-0 until end of turn. If you control a Wizard, draw a card.
/ Shell Shield Common Instant Kicker {1} (You may pay an additional {1} as you cast this spell.) Target creature you control gets +0/+3 until end of turn. If this spell was kicked, that creature also gains hexproof until end of turn. (It can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control.)
Zulaport Duelist Common Creature Flash When Zulaport Duelist enters the battlefield, up to one target creature gets -2/-0 until end of turn. Its controller mills two cards. (They put the top two cards of their library into their graveyard.) 1/1
Concerted Defense Uncommon Instant Counter target noncreature spell unless its controller pays {1} plus an additional {1} for each creature in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.)
Anticognition Common Instant Counter target creature or planeswalker spell unless its controller pays {2}. If an opponent has eight or more cards in their graveyard, instead counter that spell, then scry 2.
Deliberate Common Instant Scry 2, then draw a card.
/ Into the Roil Common Instant Kicker {1}{U} (You may pay an additional {1}{U} as you cast this spell.) Return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand. If this spell was kicked, draw a card.
Negate Common Instant Counter target noncreature spell.
Beyeen Veil Uncommon Instant Creatures your opponents control get -2/-0 until end of turn.
Jwari Disruption Uncommon Instant Counter target spell unless its controller pays {1}.
Glacial Grasp Common Instant Tap target creature. Its controller mills two cards. That creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. (They put the top two cards of their library into their graveyard.) Draw a card.
Silundi Vision Uncommon Instant Look at the top six cards of your library. You may reveal an instant or sorcery card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Living Tempest Common Creature Flash Flying 3/3
Black - Deadly Alliance Common Instant This spell costs {1} less to cast for each creature in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.) Destroy target creature or planeswalker.
Malakir Rebirth Uncommon Instant Choose target creature. You lose 2 life. Until end of turn, that creature gains "When this creature dies, return it to the battlefield tapped under its owner's control."
Oblivion's Hunger Common Instant Target creature you control gains indestructible until end of turn. Draw a card if that creature has a +1/+1 counter on it. (Damage and effects that say "destroy" don't destroy that creature.)
Subtle Strike Common Instant Choose one or both — • Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn. • Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
Nimana Skydancer Common Creature Flash Flying When Nimana Skydancer enters the battlefield, target opponent mills two cards. (They put the top two cards of their library into their graveyard.) 2/1
Vanquish the Weak Common Instant Destroy target creature with power 3 or less.
Soul Shatter Rare Instant Each opponent sacrifices a creature or planeswalker with the highest converted mana cost among creatures and planeswalkers they control.
Hagra Mauling Rare Instant This spell costs {1} less to cast if an opponent controls no basic lands. Destroy target creature.
Red Spikefield Hazard Uncommon Instant Spikefield Hazard deals 1 damage to any target. If a permanent dealt damage this way would die this turn, exile it instead.
Inordinate Rage Common Instant Target creature gets +3/+2 until end of turn. Scry 1.
Sizzling Barrage Common Instant Sizzling Barrage deals 4 damage to target creature that blocked this turn.
/ Cinderclasm Uncommon Instant Kicker {R} (You may pay an additional {R} as you cast this spell.) Cinderclasm deals 1 damage to each creature. If it was kicked, it deals 2 damage to each creature instead.
Molten Blast Common Instant Choose one — • Molten Blast deals 2 damage to target creature or planeswalker. • Destroy target artifact.
Kazuul's Fury Uncommon Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature. Kazuul's Fury deals damage equal to the sacrificed creatures power to any target.
Valakut Awakening Rare Instant Put any number of cards from your hand on the bottom of your library, then draw that many cards plus one.
Synchronized Spellcraft Common Instant Synchronized Spellcraft deals 4 damage to target creature and X damage to that creature's controller, where X is the number of creatures in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.)
Green Vastwood Fortification Uncommon Instant Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
/ Might of Murasa Common Instant Kicker {2}{G} (You may pay an additional {2}{G} as you cast this spell.) Target creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn. If this spell was kicked, that creature gets +5/+5 until end of turn instead.
/ Inscription of Abundance Rare Instant Kicker {2}{G} Choose one. If this spell was kicked, choose any number instead. • Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature. • Target player gains X life, where X is the greatest power among creatures they control. • Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control.
Broken Wings Common Instant Destroy target artifact, enchantment, or creature with flying.
Khalni Ambush Uncommon Instant Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control. (Each deals damage equal to its power to the other.)
Roiling Regrowth Uncommon Instant Sacrifice a land. Search your library for up to two basic land cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.
Multi-Color Soaring Thought-Thief Uncommon Creature Flash Flying As long as an opponent has eight or more cards in their graveyard, Rogues you control get +1/+0. Whenever one or more Rogues you control attack, each opponent mills two cards. 1/3
- Spoils of Adventure Uncommon Instant This spell costs {1} less to cast for each creature in your party. (Your party consists of up to one each of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard.) You gain 3 life and draw three cards.
/ Zareth San, the Trickster Rare Creature Flash {2}{U}{B}, Return an unblocked attacking Rogue you control to its owner's hand: Put Zareth San, the Trickster from your hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Whenever Zareth San deals combat damage to a player, you may put target permanent card from that player's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. 4/4
