Rough Drafts: Ravnica / Ravnica / Guildpact
Hello everyone! It's time for another edition of Rough Drafts! This week we head to the second of the original Ravnica block formats for Ravnica/Ravnica/Guidpact, which means three new guilds entering the draft format: the bloodthirsty Gruul, the spell-focused Izzet, and the haunting Orzhov! What this change means is that a careful drafter will be rewarded for thinking ahead. Sure, you can jump into a wedge in packs one and two (like BUG, for example), but then you don't get to take advantage of any of the Guildpact guilds, and your pack three will probably go poorly. On the other hand, if you can resist the temptation to go into three colors and stick to one guild (for instance, Dimir) you're likely to get paid off in pack three (when you could go into Grixis, Esper, or even a four-color build).
Let's get to the videos, then we'll talk about my impressions of Ravnica/Ravnica/Guildpact limited. A quick reminder. If you enjoy the Rough Drafts series and the other video content on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up on all the latest and greatest.
