Brewer's Minute: The Sad Story of Troll Worship

Hey everyone! It's time for another Brewer's Minute! For the past few weeks, we've been looking at the game from a micro perspective and talking about individual cards and decks, so this week, we are going to change things up and talk about Magic from a more meta perspective. Normally with Brewer's Minute, I try to have an article to go along with the video, but it doesn't really work this week because we're having story time! A couple of years ago, Troll Worship was one of my favorite budget decks in Modern, not just because it made opponents miserable by locking them out of the game but because it was really good, since very few popular decks played many (or any) answers to the Worship-with-hexproof-creature lock. Fast forward to last week. I tried to play a Worship lock deck and found that it couldn't win at all. So, today's topic is: what happened with Troll Worship? How could a deck go from so good to so bad so quickly, and what should you do when one of your favorite decks suddenly can't win?

Don't forget: if you enjoy the series (and haven't already), make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish YouTube Channel!
