Weekly Update (Oct 16): Pro Tour Kaladesh Decklists
|
Pro Tour Kaladesh |
|
Pro Tour Kaladesh decklists are here. It was a crazy weekend with a diverse field with eight unique decks in the Top 8: We had Aetherworks Marvel decks, W/R Vehicle decks, Dynavolt Tower decks, Metalwork Colossus decks, and various Control decks including Jeskai and Grixis. It looks like there isn't a dominant deck this Standard, and we're in for a wide-open Standard season. Check out the decklists below, as well as our round-by-round coverage of all the action.

Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive |
|
The biggest finance news of the week comes to us from Pro Tour Kaladesh, which did its part to shake up the Standard metagame. The biggest winner from the entire event was Torrential Gearhulk, which increased nearly 200% to $25 on the back of play in several different control decks including Grixis, Jeskai and UR.
Meanwhile, Aetherworks Marvel was the namesake card in the most played deck, and even though the deck only put one player into the Top 8, the price of the artifact more than doubled to over $17.
Further down the list we have two rares that were nearly bulk heading into the tournament that each increased more than 500%. The first is Electrostatic Pummeler, which didn't have a great Pro Tour showing, but found a home in an Infect-like combo deck that has been extremely popular on Magic Online over the past few days. The second is Dynavolt Tower, which managed to make the Top 8 as part of a UR Spell decks that uses the artifact as its primary win condition.
Last but not least, we have Metalwork Colossus, which doubled up to $4 after finding itself as the key card in Temur Colossus, a deck that did a great job of putting players into day two, but couldn't find its way onto the Sunday stage.
So what should you do if you have these cards? Sell them now into the hype! Approximately four out of every five cards that spike as a result of a Pro Tour will drop back down to near their pre-spike prices within a month or two. Unless you are planning on playing with these cards in the near future, the safest plan is to sell them now, wait about six weeks, and then rebuy whatever cards you need after prices normalize.
