Single Scoop: Dungeon De-cent (Alchemy)
Gameplan
The MTGNeon Championships had some spicy meatballs, and I have to say I was super impressed with the Dungeon decks. The original list came from Reid Duke, and I slightly tweaked it to fit best of one. The gameplan is still the same! We're going dungeon diving!
The buff to the dungeon mechanic was an interesting one because it felt that dungeons were a nonfactor in standard. Thankfully, the rebalanced versions made the mechanic way better as you're able to fly through the dungeons easily with a ton of your creatures and spells. Not only that, we had an Alchemy all-star break out in Citystalker Connoisseur!
This card was all over the place and if I'm being honest, I thought this card was bad when I first saw it but after trying it out for a minute on the ladder, it was actually pretty sweet. The ability to eat our opponent's best spell while grabbing us a blood token is one hell of a play! Not only that, but the body is a 3/3 deathtouch so it's great at blocking. I also love the decklist for adding Archon of Emeria! This is such a sweet hate piece for a deck like Naya Auras and mono-white as we're able to slow them down from making multiple plays in a turn.
Conclusion
The deck was a lot better than I thought, and it flowed nicely. I couldn't believe how smooth it played in best of one. Dungeons might actually be viable in their buffed state!
