Single Scoop: Angels of Crimsmas (Historic, Magic Arena)

The holidays are almost here so I decided I'd build a Crimsmas themed deck! This lead me to the most Christmas colors for a deck, Naya. I also felt Angels would be the perfect fit so at it's core, we'll have some big flying angels to win with! Here's the list I came up with:

Gameplan

Our gameplan is to spread holiday cheer through a midrange deck! As mentioned above, the deck is an angel deck at it's core so we include the typical angel package with more holiday themed cards added. Let's go over the holiday cards..

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Why Faeburrow Elder? This is our Christmas tree! Arena doesn't have a deep catalog of trees and this was the best tree that actually felt beneficial for the deck as opposed to something like Ghastbark Twins. It allows us to expedite our 5 drop angels while being festive!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Although 2020 has altered our plans this year, I found a way to still have that family gathering! Legion Angel was my favorite method of representing the gathering of loved ones as it invites more angels into our hand from our sideboard. It's like a bigger Squadron Hawk and perfectly benefits from our Angel theme!

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Auspicious Starrix is in the deck because elks are definitely a tribe I associate with holiday vibes. It also doesn't hurt that we could Mutate this onto something like a Bronzehide Lion (aka experimenting on the household cat). Lastly, The Immortal Sun was my idea of the big shiny star ornament on top of the tree. Plus, the best gift is the ability to shutdown Nissa, Who Shakes the World even though her passive is the actual problem.

Conclusion

Despite the random memes and jank we threw into the deck, we were able to finish 5-2! Angels always is a feel-good win because it's so ridiculously fair. I don't recommend this deck at all for climbing as it's just not competitive enough. That could change once Kaldheim releases if we get more Angel support like Starnheim Aspirant. Hopefully, you enjoyed the holiday episode! Thanks for tuning in and supporting me. Wishing everyone (except Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath and Nissa, Who Shakes the World a happy holidays!
