Historic 101: Si-Fun Control

Well, the Si-fun doesn't just stop in standard and commander. Of course, yours truly had to take Siphon Insight to Historic!
In a format where Memory Lapse exists, Siphon Insight could really pick off some key spells and turn them into your next big weapon. In a format where Jeskai Control is one of the top decks, being able to sit back and durdle harder than the opponent is always nice. Siphon Insight sits in an awkward spot where it's not a great spell to Memory Lapse and probably isn't the best thing to counterspell. Against other decks, this is a way to find your win condition or a land drop. This is the only two mana spell that we got courtesy of Midnight Hunt!
If you've been following my content or just asked me about one of the cards I'm excited for from Midnight Hunt, you'll know that I love packing my deck with Malevolent Hermit aka Grandpa. As always, you should respect your elders and this card is proof. The card is absolutely amazing on the front side as it has the ability to jam up your opponent's mana for cheap. The backside really ensures that your spells will stick against all those counterspell wars. I think this card is a staple in the 75 of most blue decks. Ontop of that, what's more iconic than beating an opponent down with a 2/1 while playing control?
Conclusion
The deck's main downfall is we didn't pack enough graveyard hate in the sideboard. The Cling to Dust in the main is a necessity but it still feels like that just isn't enough. If the format calls for it, Leyline of the Void could definitely be subbed in over the Grafdigger's Cage and Go Blank as a starting point. Our matchup is amazing against Jeskai Control so if you're looking to control Historic's big bad jeskai deck, this would be the play!
