Fish Five-0: Angels and Dargons! (Standard, Magic Arena)
At the start of #MTGM20, I tried to make a Kaalia, Zenith Seeker deck work to accrue a ton of value but hear me out... what if we left out demons (GASP)?!
Gameplan
At our core, we're a hardcore midrange deck that is trying to beat opponents with cards that can run away with games by themselves. We're mostly the Boros angels list xfileMTG did awhile back but the issue I had then was how often we were running out of gas. Enter Kaalia, Zenith Seeker
Even though we left out the demon package, Kaalia, Zenith Seeker hitting one angel off the top is still more than enough as Kaalia herself is a threat along with any other additional threats she brings along with her. She dodges Cast Down and has solid stats and abilities for what she costs.
Conclusion
Outside of Kaalia, Zenith Seeker and the Skarrgan Hellkite, we're an angel deck trying to take to the skies and play solid threats. Our aggro matchup is usually solid if we keep Bishop of Wings, as that card absolutely destroys aggro matchups. Huge fan of that and I think moving forward, if I'm looking to make any updates, I'd probably look to add one to two more dragons or maybe a demon if we can find a good one in standard. As of right now, the only two demons I can think of are Doom Whisperer and Demonlord Belzenlok. Anything else just isn't worth it or absurdly pricey like Vilis, Broker of Blood.
