Deck Primer / Description
This deck is primarily built around two hidden commanders, Swans of Bryn Argoll and Jeskai Ascendancy. Gnostro, Voice of the Crags is used as the commander to bring these two cards together into one game plan. By casting spells, you are able to power Gnostro to hit your swans for a lot of card draw, and with Jeskai Ascendancy, you are able to untap Gnostro after each spell to draw even more cards. Additionally, this allows you to loot as you go through the combo, letting you discard cards such as Fatestitcher, Anger and Echo of Eons, which are all cards you want to have in your graveyard if possible. Eventually you will find either Blazing Sunsteel or Fiendlash, which you can equip to a random creature other than Swans to deal a huge chunk of damage to an opponent's face (Swans will prevent the damage if it is targeted, so it won't be able to redirect it). Alternatively, if you are able to assemble either Seismic Assault or a flipped Invasion of Kaldheim, you are able to discard lands to draw cards when you hit the Swans. Doing this should give you a decent chance to draw your whole deck, at which point you can shuffle all your lands back into the deck using either Elixir of Immortality or Echo of Eons to keep the loop going, and eventually start to be able to throw lands at your opponents face. There are also several creatures included to create tokens as you are casting spells, and several creatures that can be used to untap lands or mana rocks to generate mana with Jeskai Ascendancy, as well as pump your token army that will be able to attack right away with Anger. Ioreth of the Healing House has the additional ability to be used to untap Gnostro, as well as Loran of the Third Path and Ellyn Harbreeze, Busybody to draw additional cards if needed. Ascend from Avernus gives you a way to rebuild your board from a non exile wrath, and cards such as Flawless Maneuver and Teferi's Protection also serve as wrath protection. Pull from Eternity is included for several reasons, including as a way to get back both of our hidden commanders back if they happen to get exiled. You can also use it as a way to rebuy a Teferi's Protection or any of our other cards that will exile themselves, notably Echo of Eons, as this gives you a way to consistently loop Echo if needed. We also have an Urza's Saga package, such as Skullclamp to draw cards off our tokens, Basilisk Collar to power up Gnostro as removal and to gain life while doing damage, and Soul-Guide Lantern for graveyard hate. Playing Swans also causes us to play damage based sweepers, which allows us to use indestructible effects to save our board, as well as hit our opponents for lots of damage with the previously mentioned equipment as well as Brash Taunter, and both Swans and Brash Taunter work well with a Pyrohemia in play.
I built this deck to follow the Commander Clash banlist, as well as trying to keep it at a slightly lower power level. If you find this deck interesting, and are looking for ways to upgrade it, cards such as Mind Over Matter in addition to fast mana such as Sol Ring or Smothering Tithe, and strong card draw options such as Rhystic Study and The One Ring can add a lot of additional power to a deck like this. You can also upgrade the protection suite with more powerful counter magic such as Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship and Mana Drain.
