Description

This list was featured on Color Commontary Episode 18. I'm going to leave it as-is and make all future changes to the deck here: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/473783#online

My own take on the Acid Trip archetype. I found that the deck's inability to close out a game was a liability. I added green to provide more offense while trying to stay true to the original game plan.

Straightforward replacements:
Abundant Growth replaces Preordain. Abundant Growth is needed to support the mana base and provides an excellent target for Skyfisher and Dreamstalker, allowing profitable play as early as turn 2.
Coiling Oracle replaces Sea Gate Oracle. This is not a strict upgrade, but the lower CMC is nice and surging ahead on lands can be game changing because the deck's real power comes at 5 mana.
Wickerbough Elder replaces Kor Sanctifiers. While a bit slower, he's substantially bigger, plays better with Momentary Blink, and can store his destruction trigger.

Notable Additions:
+2 Aura Gnarlid. With 8 benign land auras, 3 traditional auras, and 2 Reality Acids, he incidentally becomes big. The evasion provides a path to victory and allows you to attack without clearing out every last permanent.
+1 Moldervine Cloak. This card has worked out extremely well. The normal problem with auras, that they invite a 2-for-1, is mitigated by the value that the creatures bring when they enter the battlefield and the size of their toughness once it lands. Useless bodies are given purpose and the removal that would have been used to sweep the skies must be spent on Coiling Oracles, plant tokens, and Dream Stalkers. Even if your opponent can answer the new threat, they must do so over and over. Mulldrifter/Skyfisher + Cloak puts your opponent in a position where he must play into your value Momentary Blink dodges or face a dragon sized flyer.
+1 Rancor, an undoubtedly great green common. Similar to the Cloak, this aura provides a persistent way to turn your 1/x ground force into something that can bite or your 2/x flyers into real beaters. Rancor painlessly recurs itself, but the Cloak is better when you're playing into targeted removal and tends to dominate the board if it can stick. I like having both as an option.
+2 Khalni Garden. The plant is great vs. Edicts, great with Karoos, and is happy to wear the auras. Bouncing this land vs. MBC is a very real option.
+3 Crumbling Vestige. This card allows us to maintain tempo and still hit our colors. It's an excellent target for Abundant Growth, Spreading Seas, or the Karoos.

Notable Subtractions:
Reality Acid count down to 2. Seeing too many Acids is just as bad as seeing none. The alternate win conditions and extra cantripping auras take pressure off the need for the namesake card.
Lone Missionary reduced to 1. The 4 Abundant Growth and cheaper Oracle provide plenty of attractive early game targets for our bouncers. The green win conditions make the deck substantially better at tussling with big creatures, so padding our life total is a much lower priority. He's still an all-star vs. Burn and aggro, so he keeps a spot. If he shows up when we need him--great!
No Serrated Arrows. Truthfully, I have never owned it, so I can't comment on it's efficacy.
Down to 3 Journeys. Great card, but I couldn't find the space.
Dropped to 2 Momentary Blink. I wanted to reduce the chance of seeing multiple blinks in the early game, so I dropped the number to 2. Very happy with this change.

Notable Omissions:
Nylea's Presence: I have considered replacing Spreading Seas with Nylea's Presence many, many times. At a substantial cost to the Tron and Drake match up, it would provide a smoother mana base and possibly open up spicy sideboard tech with access to 8 sources of any color (Ancient Grudge? Pyroblast?). If I go this route, I would probably add 4 Utopia Sprawl and totally rework the mana base. If I could drastically cut down the number of ETB lands, it could be a big pay off. In the end, a split between the two may be best.
Pulse of Murasa: The card looks like a great fit. I will test it at some point, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
Holy Light, sideboard: I use Icatian Javelineers because they are faster, repeatable, and a good option vs. White Tokens (who can give this deck a problem). They also don't kill our own x/1's and can swing with Auras. The power level on Holy Light is higher, so I'm not totally convinced that I made the right choice.
Moment's Peace, sideboard: Again, I haven't tested it. It's certainly something to consider.
