The point of the deck is to get an infinite combo going with a a wonky Rube Goldberg Machine.
The first element is Teysa Karlov, obviously, which doubles our death triggers. This deck doesn't make use of the vigilance and lifelink on tokens that much.
The main combo card here is Pitiless Plunderer. With Teysa, he will create 2 treasures anytime one of our creatures die.
This goes very well with Reassembling Skeleton : Sadly standard doesn't have repeatable free sac outlets but if it would, we could sacrifice the skeleton and bring him back using the treasures endlessly. Which is what we're ultimately going to do, but in a more complicated fashion.
Standard has 2 one-mana repeatable sac outlets : Pitiless Pontiff and Ravenous Harpy. One is a great blocker, and the other one can be a wincon if we go infinite without any other payoff.
So now, how do we go infinite? We have 3 ways of doing so.
The first, and most powerful one, is Open the Graves. Sacrificing our skeleton will give us 2 zombies that we can then both also sacrifice, netting us one treasure per loop. Doing this an infinite amount of times, we now have infinite mana, that we can use to bring back and sac our skeleton but without the zombies, granting us infinite mana, infinite zombies, and infinite death triggers.
The second one is of course Helm of the Host. Putting it onto the plunderer grants us 4 treasures for one sac. Considering sacrificing the skeleton and bringing him back costs 3, we now have infinite mana and infinite death triggers.
The third one is Desecrated Tomb. This gives us a bat each time the skeleton is brought back, and sacrificing it each time gives us infinite death triggers.
Finally, we have payoffs for this combo, with Cruel Celebrant and Vindictive Vampire : our infinite death triggers will drain our opponents to death, and even if we don't manage to go infinite, closing out games can go very quickly with them and teysa.

Being a combo deck, we want to have card draw to get our combo pieces.
Certain cards are obvious, like Midnight Reaper, Liliana, Dreadhorde General, or God-Eternal Bontu.
I like Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted : he's versatile, drains for quite some damage over time, can be removal or card draw, he really is amazing.
The last spot in card draw is probably the most controversial one, with Mentor of the Meek. But he really can get work done with our skeleton and even without it.

But what's better than card draw, i hear you ask? Tutoring. Surprisingly, standard has 3 quite relevant tutors that we can use.
Firstly, Final Parting lets us get any card in our hand and also our skeleton in our graveyard. You can also put another combo piece in the graveyard and get it back later with Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord or Memorial to Glory
Forerunner of the Legion is quite relevant in this list : He can get us the pontiff, both our draining vampires or even Elenda, the Dusk Rose.
Mausoleum Secrets is a straight up tutor (for black cards tho) and is therefore good.

Being a grindy control deck, we want to have removal. Lots of removal. For spot removal, we have Mortify, Spark Harvest, Plaguecrafter and Vraska's Contempt.
Considering board wipes, we play Kaya's Wrath, Ritual of Soot, Cleansing Nova, Vona's Hunger, and The Elderspell which can win us the game if Lili is out.

We also want to protect our creatures, our combo being very fragile. That's why we play Make a Stand and Unbreakable Formation. You could consider playing Teyo, the Shieldmage or The Wanderer, depending on what your meta is playing.

Then we have some other cards : Revel in Riches gives us an alternate wincon (and is awesome with Vona's Hunger), Smothering Tithe ramps us so we can get the combo going, Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord gets us any creature from our deck back onto the battlefield (except Bontu i guess), Elenda, the Dusk Rose is just awesome in this deck, Seraph of the Scales gets us some tokens, a beater and a blocker all in one, and i like Baird, Steward of Argive and i don't really know why.

A new addition is Finale of Eternity. It wins games. That's it.

The mana base is a bunch of dual lands, a Blast Zone as another board wipe, a Memorial to Folly to get back a combo piece, and an Emergence Zone to flash out part of our combo on end step if we need the extra mana.
