Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive

Search for Azcanta The Scarab God Vraska's Contempt

The big financial news of the week comes from Worlds. While it's hard to generalize too much from a 24-player tournament, only a handful of Ixalan cards showed up at the event, but these cards top our Standard winners for the week. Search for Azcanta looks to be the foundation of Standard control, causing the enchantment to jump 136% to over $14.00, while one of the only answers to The Scarab God and Hazoret the Fervent, Vraska's Contempt, also more than doubled in price to nearly $9. While the uniqueness of Worlds (hopefully) means that the broader Ixalan Standard will be a bit more diverse, it's likely these cards will remain a big part of it. While they will tick down as supply increases, they should remain among the most expensive cards from the set moving forward.

On the other hand, many of the most hyped Ixalan card from spoiler season are trending down, with most Mythics from the set dropping about 10% on the week. This is normal as supply enters the market, and doubly so for cards that don't actually see any play in Standard. Likely the biggest losers of the bunch are the tribal strategies from the set, which haven't done much of anything. At this point it might be time to sell Dinosaurs and non-Hostage Taker Pirates, with the plan being to pick them back up over the holiday season just before Rivals of Ixalan spoilers start.

Finally, we saw some under-the-radar cards from Standard on the move this week, with Heroic Intervention up 55% to nearly $5, Mechanized Production up 45% to $4, and Authority of the Consuls doubling up to $5.50. While Authority of the Consuls makes sense as a sideboard staple (Ramunap Red was the most played deck at Worlds), the other two don't see significant tournament play and are likely driven by the Commander market. It's worth digging through your bulk to see if you have some copies sitting around to fund your next draft, or to put towards an Ixalan Standard deck.
