Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive |
|
This week our biggest finance news come from Modern, and more specifically the development of a crazy new Naya Monsters deck that's looking to discard Impervious Greatwurm (up 23% to $11.09) to Cragganwick Cremator (up more than 1000% from bulk to over $6). While most people are just learning about the deck, it's actually been posting results in Japan for a while now and might prove to be a real player in Modern. We've already seen Buy-A-Box Promos garner insane prices tags, and Cragganwick Cremator is old and low in supply. If the deck continues to post results, the prices of both key pieces could continue to grow.
We talked about Arclight Phoenix last week and it's still on the rise, increasing another 45% this week to $20. The hasty flier is posting finishes in Standard and Modern and might end up being the best card from Guilds of Ravnica. With a Pro Tour around the corner in just a couple weeks, another price increase is possible. While cashing out now for $20 is fine, with almost two more years in Standard, Arclight Phoenix is a fine long-term hold.
Finally, Seedtime was bought out this week. The Judgment rare occasionally shows up in Legacy Infect and offers one of the cheapest ways to take an extra turn in all of Magic. Right now there are almost zero near mint copies available online, but there's plenty of lower quality copies on the market. While it's possible that the card is under priced, this seems like a finance-based buyout which is probably safe to ignore.
