The biggest financial news this week comes from Standard where we are starting to see some major price changes heading towards rotation, which happens a month from today. First off we have Chandra, Flamecaller (up 65% to $19.99) which has been getting a ton of hype from pros on social media and is starting to show up in different wedge/splash decks like Mardu Green and Dark Jeskai. While she may be nearing her ceiling, it's possible that a breakout performance at Pro Tour Shadows over Innistrad could push the red planeswalker into the $30 range for a short time. This said, I know several people that are selling their copies now at $20.

Speaking of planeswalkers, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar increased 31% to $14.99 this week, thanks mostly to being a four-of in the Hardened Scales deck that was the story of last weekend. This deck will be gone next month at rotation, so Nissa, Voice of Zendikar's future is murky. Chandra, Flamecaller is getting to the point where it can see play in most red decks because it's a powerful card all by itself, but this isn't the case with Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, which needs a lot of support to be good. However, Innistrad had a strong token theme the first time around (remember, it was the block that gave us Lingering Souls), so if we get some powerful token producers during spoiler season, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar could be in for an even bigger bump.

Finally, let's talk a bit about Shadows over Innistrad itself since spoilers have started to trickle out. While several of the cards previewed thus far are super flavorful (Brain in a Jar and Tamiyo's Journal) or obviously pushed for constructed (Relentless Dead and Archangel Avacyn, so far there hasn't been a single card I'd order at presale prices, which are drastically inflated. This said, I will be watching cards with the delirium mechanic closely. I'm expecting at least one Modern/Legacy staple to have the mechanic (which feels built for eternal formats) and there's a chance it starts out underpriced as people may not realize just how easy it is to have four card types in the graveyard in older formats.
