Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive |

In Standard this week, while there haven't been any huge price spikes, we have seen a lot of smaller adjustments as the format figures itself out post-banning. The biggest winners are mostly tied to tribal strategies with Unclaimed Territory leading the way, up 38% to just under $4 (which is impressive for an in-print uncommon). Otherwise, Sanctum Seeker (up 27% to $2.70) and Legion's Landing (up 12% to $5.74) also ticked up on the week thanks to Vampires posting a finish online, along with Jadelight Ranger (up 14% to $12) and Rekindling Phoenix (up 17% to $18), which have separated themselves from the Rivals of Ixalan pack as two of the most playable cards from the set.
Rivals of Ixalan is making its presence felt in the Commander/casual scene as well, with two of the biggest winners in Modern being tied to Merfolk Commander. Surgespanner and Merrow Commerce (both of which more than doubled in price this week to between $4 and $5) not only work well with Merfolk in general, but in Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca decks in specific, taking advantage of the fact that Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca taps other Merfolk for value.
Finally, Pauper is becoming a legitimate format in terms of finance, with Oubliette shooting up to over $40 and Tortured Existence tripling up in price this week to over $3. If you are looking for some Pauper cards, you should be picking from your bulk and make sure to check out the Intro to Pauper Finance article on the site!
