Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive

As Foretold Steamflogger Boss Chainer's Edict

This week had been pretty quite on the finance front with people focused on the holidays and waiting for Rivals of Ixalan spoilers to start in the New Year. In Standard and Modern there were no real movements, with the biggest winners being As Foretold and Living End (which increased 12% and 9% respectively), both of which are hold overs from the Mono-Blue Living End deck we talked about last week.

In stranger finance news, foil copies of Steamflogger Boss from Unstable are currently around $200, based primarily on scarcity. If you're building a casual Contraption deck and really need foils copies of Steamflogger Boss, you're better off getting the Future Sight version which is only $20.

Finally, on Magic Online, some of the biggest winners of the week are from Pauper, with cards like Atog, Oubliette, and Moment's Peace all increasing by more than 30%. With the recent announcement that Pauper will be an official format for side events at paper Grand Prix starting in January, it will be worth tracking Pauper prices to see if paper playability leads to format growth. It's unlikely that most Pauper cards increase in paper (since as commons they have massive supply), but it will be worth tracking old uncommons that are legal in the format because they are common on Magic Online, like Battle Screech and Chainer's Edict.
