Finance Update w/ Saffron Olive

With Shadows over Innistrad prerelease events in the books and the official release of the set only five days away, it should come as little surprise that most of the big financial news of the week is tied to the set.
First we have Westvale Abbey. It was not only the most viewed card on the site this week, but the biggest gainer as well, jumping 251 percent to $16.95. Reports are that the card tested very strong and there's a good chance Westvale Abbey sees a lot of play in Standard. The problem is, unless this is Mutavault and is a four-of in most decks, it will have a hard time staying near $20 once the set is opened in earnest. I would sell any and all copies opened at the prerelease as soon as possible.
Second we have Mindwrack Demon (up 151 percent to $7.66), which started off low in hype and value thanks to being a Duel Deck mythic. This all changed this week when it received praise from some of the Magic Pros reviewing the set. While I'm naturally skeptical of Duel Deck mythics (mostly because their track record is horrible), it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that the new price on Mindwrack Demon sticks because it has happened before (see: Polukranos, World Eater) — after all, it does have flying Siege Rhino stats. If you really need your Mindwrack Demons, remember that you can grab Duel Deck: Blessed vs Cursed on Amazon.com for ~$16.
Finally, we have a non-Shadows over Innistrad card with Archangel of Tithes shooting up 137% to about $14. To me this is a testament to how manabases are changing post-rotation. Archangel of Tithes has always been powerful, but paying triple white was a deal breaker in a world of five-color good stuff. Now that one-, two-, and three-colors will be the norm, it may be time for Archangel of Tithes to shine in constructed. As a Magic Origins mythic, hanging in the $10-$15 range wouldn't surprise me one bit assuming it carves out a role in a heavily played deck.
In summary, sell Westvale Abbey now, but it's not impossible that Mindwrack Demon and especially Archangel of Tithes stick at their new price points assuming they find tier homes in the new Standard format.
