Pro Tour: Khans of Tarkir Results

Congratulations to Ari Lax for taking down Pro Tour: KTK with Abzan Midrange. Ari's version had a higher curve and played almost played like Azban Super Friends with the inclusion of Sorin Solemn Visitor, Elspeth Sun's Champion, Ajani Mentor of Heroes, Nissa Worldwaker and Liliana Vess. And let's not forget about the new elephant in the room: Siege Rhino! Flashbacks of Thragtusk anyone? Siege Rhino did a ton of work on camera all through out the Pro Tour.

Pro Tour: Khans of Tarkir Coverage

We tried something new for this Pro Tour and did some live coverage. Let us know on twitter what you thought! Here's a recap of our coverage:

Magic the Gathering Board Game Revealed

Ptktk boardgame

Wizards revealed a teaser for the new MTG Board Game on the PT KTK stream. The official announcement will be at Essen (a board game convention) on Oct 16.

Regional PTQ Locations and Liliana Promo

Ptktk rptq promo

Wizards revealed the cities for the new Regional PTQ system. All the cities are "major destinations" similar to GP locations. Wizards also revealed that participants in an RPTQ will receive a promotional Liliana of the Veil! A rough estimate is about 3100 copies will be introduced each season, so with 3 seasons in 2015 there will be 9300 copies added into circulation. The regular version will probably drop in price, but the Innistrad foil may keep its value due to the classic card-frame.

FNM Updates

Helene Bergeot announced an update to the Friday Night Magic program. Soon your local game store will be able to host FNM in any format instead of the usual constructed/limited. It's so flexible that you can even invent your own format! It will be interesting to see what LGSs do with this.

Articles Launched on MTGGoldfish

With PT: KTK we launched a new article section on MTGGoldfish. Eventually it will be a place where anyone can contribute their MTG knowledge to the community. This week we will have a ton of analysis on the Pro Tour and what it means for mtgfinance and the metagame. Be sure to check out it!

MTGO v4 Updates

MTGOv4 will receive an update on Oct 22. The update will bring "some long-awaited Duel Scene improvements, including a redesigned graveyard (spoiler alert, you can pop it out), changes to Collection to better manage items in a trade binder, the return of player ratings, and many bug fixes for issues great and small."

Soul Sisters is a beloved archetype by many and thanks to Aerith, this deck is loaded with Ajani's Pridemate effects. Hopefully, she can outlast Standard better than she did with Sephiroth.
