Single Scoop: Mono Black Enchantments (Historic, Magic Arena)
Gameplan
There are now tons of enchantments and artifacts that ping our opponents down and we're hoping we can pester our opponent's health to zero with cards like Trespasser's Curse, Revenge of Ravens, and Torment of Scarabs! As we wait for our enchantments to wither our opponents to the ground, we're hoping to control the board with our spot removal and sweepers. Torment of Scarabs and Cruel Reality can have some fun synergies with Tergrid, God of Fright, having our opponents discarding and sacrificing so many things over the course of a game. Unfortunately, our core spells really care about creatures, you can safely assume that any control deck will be a problem. We can only hope we dodge the control matchups!
Conclusion
I think the deck needs more ways to aggressively close out the game but it's hilarious when the pieces come together. I can definitely see the appeal of adding more colors into the deck to add more enchantments as there are so many ways to build an enchantment style of deck. I think the next time we play a deck like this, I'll be trying Mardu(Savai) to have access to cards like Outlaws' Merriment. Either way, the deck was fun to try. Thanks for watching and I'll see you at the next episode!
